Budget for Works Conducted by the Kinki Regional Development Bureau

The estimated budget for the Kinki Regional Development Bureau is now 442 billion yen (97% compared with the previous year) and 1 trillion 211 billion yen (91% compared with the previous year) for works under our direct jurisdiction and auxiliary works, respectively, for a total budget of 1 trillion 653 billion yen (92% compared with the previous year).
Furthermore, in 2001, the former Ministry of Construction, Kinki Regional Construction Bureau merged with the Kinki Division of the Third Port and Harbor Construction Bureau to form the present Kinki Regional Development Bureau. In addition to performance of the duties and works normally performed by the Kinki Regional Construction Bureau and direct jurisdiction works once performed by the Third Port and Harbor Construction Bureau, and considering the administrational duties related to the construction industry, and the need for decentralization of power, it was determined that we would assume duties related to the provision of financial support and grants to regional public corporations and organizations.
