As the new symbol displaying the future orientation of Himeji, the central core of the broad Western Hyogo seaside and Harima areas, as the base for citizens' life, culture and interaction, and as an international tourist attraction and the gateway to the core city of Nishiharima Technopolis, several roles are being given to the area surrounding JR Himeji Station, and development of an infrastructure better suited to an era of globalization and increasing reliance on information is expected.
