Offer local information to inbound tourists from a variety of countries in their own language using ICT technologies to achieve an environment where any tourist can enjoy local tours safely and comfortably without anyone’s help.
Attach a QR code to existing local information boards to enable users to display information on the boards on their smartphones by reading the QR code.
English, traditional and simplified Chinese, Korean, Thai, French, German, Indonesian, Vietnamese, and Spanish
* Information in Japanese is also simultaneously displayed.
Read the QR code on the sticker attached on the information board with a smartphone.
The system identifies the language used for the browser installed on the smartphone(*).
* Information in English is displayed for speakers of languages other than the 10 available languages.
Text information on the information board is displayed in the user’s language.
The display language can be changed manually (on a drop-down menu).
Tap a destination to show a route from the location of the information board to the destination.
The same language as on the text page is used on the map.(However, English is used on the map for other language speakers than traditional and simplified Chinese, Korean, and Thai. For the maps of underground shopping centers, information is displayed only in Japanese.)
Display of contents
Information is displayed in similar colors to the actual information boards (classified into five combinations).Text information in both Japanese and the user’s native language is displayed. Pictographs and arrows are also used as on actual information boards.
Display of Map・Routes
A route is shown from the location of an information board (= a start point) to a destination selected on a text page.
If information on the text page is written in English, traditional and simplified Chinese, Korean, and Thai, users can go to a map in the same language. If the page is written in another language, users will go to a map in English.
The location of an information board is centered on a map linked from the text page. (If the signboard is in an underground shopping center, the map of the underground mall is displayed first.) The map of a specified floor (an outdoor/indoor map) can be displayed with a maximum scale of /1500.The map of an underground mall is displayed only in Japanese. (The background map is displayed in the user’s language.)
